VR grants to CAnMove PIs

Yesterday Staffan Bensch, Christoffer Johansson Westheim and Karin Rengefors - all CAnMove PIs - were granted research money from The Swedish Research Council

Staffan Bensch receives 4,1 million crowns. The goal of his project is to find out why certain parasites can infect hundreds of species, while most parasites are limited to a few species. Christoffer Johansson Westheim is granted 3,25 million crowns for his project on the effect of morphology.
Karin Rengefors receives 3,3 million crowns for her research project on the paradox of dispersal.

The Research Council approved of 50 applications from Lund University, nine of these from the Department of Biology who in total will recieve 31 974 000 Swedish crowns. Read more on: http://www.biology.lu.se/article/32-million-crowns-to-nine-biologists
